WHAT IS A LIFESTYLE SESSION?, BY Amy Gannon Photography
These sessions are all the little things that happen in between moments, because really when we're years from now we might not remember all the delightful and quirky things our kids did.
We're all about capturing the enjoyable moments, laughter, smiles, playing games, reading a book and yummy bear-hugs, because that is what life and family is all about.
Lifestyle sessions are about LIFE, your life because no matter the clutter, the wild noises our children make, or how disorganized life gets, it’s still genuinely what make each family or person beautiful.
Best location for a lifestyle shoot? Your home, of course!
This is where are you guys relax, are comfortable and have fun playing either with the baby or the dog or so on.
However, the locations are limitless really. Because it could be a picnic, it could be you guys going to the beach, being on the boat, it could be anything that your family or partner enjoys.
How to Get ready for a Life Style Session?
First, your home is our canvas, and your precious little one and her family are painting. So you just have to relax and be yourselves.
Plan on at one or if you would like two different outfits for your shoot to give yourself a good variety of looks.
The best way to dress is to match your surroundings. If you chose to wear more than one outfit, we would suggest two different types of outfits or more. We will have you start in a more casual look. For the ladies, we recommend dressy jeans, heels, and a nice blouse you might go to dinner is paired with nice jeans and a button-down dress shirt for the guys. As long as your colors coordinate with each other, they’ll be fine. For example, light blue and dark brown look great together, whereas red and green don’t go together (unless it is for Xmas).
For the second outfit, we suggest going a little dressier (ONLY IF it fits in your personality). A dress (summer dress or cocktail dress) with heels and accessories and the guys in slacks or khakis (something dressier than jeans) and a dressier button-down shirt with a blazer.
Be sure your clothes are ironed and lint-free. Opt for form-fitting styles and heels vs. a loose fit and flats for the most photographically flattering figure for females.
Make sure your nails are neat (either painted or not-no chipping). We highly recommend using a professional makeup artist to look your absolute best, but this is all up to you. Your hair should be worn down as you would typically wear it for a nice night out.
As for babies, naked babies are the best. However, I usually bring simple items like blankets and maybe one simple little outfit. Otherwise, if you want an outfit we can always use them. But because of Covia-19 I might not be able to bring these items.
Again don't worry if you didn't get all the above done. A lifestyle session is really, really relaxed.
What to wear for a lifestyle session,... how long is the session? All these questions and more will be answered on your personal consultation to go over the vision, and how the session will go.
